Further to our statement dated 20 December 2011, the Philippine Embassy would like to thank the members of the Filipino community who have responded to the call/appeal for donations to help alleviate the suffering of thousands of our “kababayan’s” affected by the devastating typhoon “Sendong” in Mindanao and the Visayas.

The Philippine Village Centre In Wellington

Partick Pardo, a business owner of NZ Home Loans and sponsor of the Filipino Centre Naming Contest, awarded the certificate and a cheque of $200 to winner, Carlos Quirino Jr. in Auckland. The winning entry is "The Philippine Village Centre in Wellington" which closely reflects the vision of the Trust and what the project is all about. Thanks to Kenji who brought the certificate and prize from Wellington to Auckland for this awarding.
